East Coast Farm Vets Equine is more than just teeth, it comes complete with a veterinary service. We’re fully mobile so we’ll come to you and take the fuss out of getting you and your horse to town.
Poor dental health in horses is a major contributor to premature death. Regular check-ups are essential to the general health of your horse. It all comes back to good nutrition. Good nutrition requires healthy teeth that allow for effective chewing, digestion and nutrient absorption. What sets East Coast Farm Vets out above the rest is the fact we offer the only full equine vet dental check on the coast. This means we will sedate your horse, resulting in a more efficient operation and quicker recovery – talk to the expert in equine dental care.
Sedation: Sedation allows for a quicker procedure as much less time is spent controlling the horse. It is important to remember that procedures such as wolf teeth and/or molar and incisor extractions are painful to the horse and must be carried under sedation and local analgesia. East Coast Farm Vets uses a Power Float, a superb power tool that makes routine correction of dental abnormalities fast and easy on the horse. We also use hand floats where necessary.
